Volunteer Guidelines

Saskatchewan Registered Music Teachers’ Association (SRMTA) is committed to providing a safe, respectful, inclusive, and professional environment for all participants at SRMTA events.

Volunteers are expected to:

• Treat all students, families, teachers, volunteers, and members of the public with respect and professionalism.
• Support the physical and emotional safety of students and maintain appropriate boundaries at all times.
• Refrain from physical contact with students, except in the event of an immediate safety concern or medical emergency.
• Communicate respectfully and only for legitimate SRMTA purposes.
• Use social media and online communications responsibly and professionally.
• Promptly report any concerns related to safety, misconduct, or inappropriate behaviour to an SRMTA Board member or designated representative.

SRMTA may require volunteers working with minors or vulnerable persons to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check.

All volunteers share responsibility for helping create a safe, welcoming, and positive environment for everyone involved in SRMTA programs and events.
