About the Award

The Saskatchewan Registered Music Teachers’ Association Summer Music Camp Award was established to provide financial assistance to music students who wish to attend a music camp or virtual music camp during the summer of the competition year.

Originally established as a memorial fund, it is funded by donations from families of former SRMTA members, and from SRMTA on behalf of music teachers who were formerly part of our Association.

The amount of the Award is $200.00 and will be awarded to either one candidate or divided between two candidates.

Rules & Regulations

Students applying for this award may be studying music in any discipline (piano, voice, strings, theory, etc.) and must:
- Be between the ages of 8 and 18 years (as of December 31 prior to the competition year)
- Be studying under the direction of a member of SRMTA
- Attend a music camp or virtual music camp during the summer of the competition year
The winner of this award must submit a short report and photo to SRMTA for publication in our journal, OPUS about their experience at the music camp, after which time the award will be forwarded.
