Mr. Toews had a busy year in 2024, having had the Saskatoon Symphony perform his Contemplating Clouds on a Prairie Sky on October 26. In fall, Chris Kelly also recorded Will They Remember Me that featured a poem written by Toews’ great-grandfather. His most recent project is to create a piece that will accompany photos taken by Gordon Sukut for the Saskatoon Photo Club competition. This is the fourth year of their collaboration. Last year, their entry was titled Vitae Cyclum. The music for this project will be premiered by the International Flute Choir this spring. Last December he completed Celebrate Life! which is the 11th in a series of short songs written annually to celebrate the season. Sinfonia Toronto performed and recorded Mu-Qu-La (Moonlit Lake) on May 6, 2023. Toews continues to compose and arrange music for his annual conducting workshop and has completed more than 100 pieces to date.
